Some lucky guy got his CE early and mentioned the patches that we can torrent (probably much faster than SE's patcher software):

Heres the torrents for the patches.

They go in C:\Users\name\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV\downloads\ffxiv
then the number up there then patch. Once the game is installed from the disc put the .patch file in the patch folder in that directory and it'll install them from there.

Just downloaded mine and confirm that it worked fine - my patches are sitting my download folder right now just waiting for my FFXIV to be installed so I can "copy pasta" them into the file.

Do I replace the file that is there already or do i use both?

Download both and copy each folder into the /ffxiv and choose to copy all and overwrite all when prompted. When you launch the the updater it'll try to download, skip to 100%, install and proceed.

If it doesn't work, you probably have a corrupted download file. Meaning the SE patcher keeps trying to DL a patch you have in place already. Try downloading it again or let the SE patcher do its thing. This happened to me today.
